What I’m playing

League of Legends: A fun and competitive game, with an incredible amount of variation in play.  Been playing it off-and-on for two years, and it still hasn’t gotten overly repetitive.

Star Wars: The Old Republic:  Just really starting to get into it, but so far I’m very impressed.  The early game, at least, is what I would expect out of a great single-player RPG.  Add to that the MMO components, which for the most part seem to be extremely well executed, and I shiver to imagine the number of hours that I could conceivably pour into this thing before I’m done with it.

All-Time Favorites

RPGs

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: The plot twist 2/3 of the way through this game was so incredibly well-executed that it still amazes me.

Mass Effect 2: The character development here is second to none.  Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age: Origins are also near-misses on this list; in case you hadn’t figured it out, I’m a big fan of Bioware’s games.

Chrono Trigger: For it’s era it had an amazingly developed plot, along with a polished combat system and characters you really cared about.  This gets the nod just slightly over Final Fantasy IV and VI (or II and III by the old Super Nintendo numbering system).

World of Warcraft: I’ve spent more time playing WoW than any other game.  It isn’t perfect, and perhaps I’m finally burnt out on it, but it is undeniably fun.

Others

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Basically every game in this series was incredible (and I’m very much looking forward to playing Skyward Sword), but Link to the Past is still my favorite.

Super Metroid: Still the best action game I’ve ever played.

Civilization III: The Civ franchise is incredible in scope and in replayability.  I’ll give the nod to Civ III over IV and V, although all of these games are extremely fun.

Portal II: A clever puzzle game and a fun (and funny) science fiction plot.
